SMTA announce two new appointments and a promotion
The Scottish Motor Trade Association (SMTA) is delighted to confirm two new staff appointments and an internal promotion as part of a management restructure at its head office.
Hannah Williams has been recruited as Marketing and Communications Manager to lead on the trade body’s marketing and communications.
Hannah joins from an accountancy firm in London where she was an Internal Communications Manager and previously held similar roles at Amazon and LEGO Group.
“I am delighted to have joined the SMTA at the start of an exciting new era and I look forward to supporting our members needs whilst delivering an impactful communication strategy,” she said.
In a newly created post of operations manager, Derek Cree joins from Henrys Skoda in Glasgow where for 7 years he was aftersales manager.
In what is a wide-ranging role, Derek will be across areas such as IT procurement, legislation, training whilst providing support and assistance to SMTA members.
Norman Stirling, meanwhile, has been promoted to business development manager tasked with membership and revenue growth.
Now in his tenth year at SMTA, Norman oversees the Territory Account Managers as well as having responsibility for Trading Partners Ltd – a wholly owned subsidiary which secures preferential product deals for SMTA members.
SMTA chief executive Alan Gall commented:
“These positive changes within our management structure strengthen our team at head office and further underpin our commitment to encourage, promote, and protect the interests of our members I look forward to the positive impact that this new team will have on our members.”
The SMTA is Scotland’s largest automotive trade body with over 1,300 members.
